Court Proceedings in Malegaon Blast Case
On Tuesday, a special court in Mumbai, operated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), formally charged four individuals in connection with the Malegaon blast incident from 2006.
Judge Chakor Bawiskar of the NIA special court announced the charges against Lokesh Sharma, Dhan Singh, Manohar Singh, and Rajendra Chaudhary under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
The tragic explosions occurred on September 8, 2006, outside a cemetery in Malegaon, located in Nashik district of North Maharashtra, resulting in the deaths of at least 37 people and injuring 125 others.
